Review existing opening balances
Find general-ledger and contact opening balances before planning a change.
Opening Balances shows the balances already held for the company's starting position.
- Open Settings and choose Opening Balances.
- Review the general-ledger account balances and totals.
- Review the contact opening balances as well; they are a separate set of records.
- Confirm the intended account or contact before considering Edit.
Viewing the page does not change balances, migration dates or journals. If the figures need correction, agree the treatment with your accountant first. Access to view balances does not grant permission to edit them, and changing a balance is distinct from merging or deleting a contact.
