When should I enable IP Box?
Enable the IP Box module if your company holds (or is developing) qualifying IP under the Cyprus regime – copyrighted software, patents, or utility models – and you want to claim the 80% deduction on qualifying profit.
Tip: If you’re unsure whether your IP qualifies, talk to your tax advisor before enabling the module. Once enabled, you can always disable it again with no impact on existing data.
Enable IP Box
Go to Settings → IP Box.
Toggle Enable IP Box on.
Click Save.
As soon as IP Box is enabled, line items on bills and invoices show two extra fields:
IP Box Category – classifies the line as IP income, direct cost, qualifying expenditure, or acquisition cost.
IP % – the percentage of the line that relates to your IP asset (default 100%).
IP Asset – the specific asset the line belongs to.
Default amortization period
Capitalised qualifying expenditure is recorded as an intangible Fixed Asset and amortised over the asset’s useful life. The default is 10 years, but you can change it:
Open Settings → IP Box.
Set Default period (years) to the value you use most often (1–50).
Click Save.
You can still override the useful life on each individual IP asset when you register it.
